Currently, Banco de Bogotá has 73% of the coffee growers affiliated with the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia as users of the Card and the Coffee Certificate, an achievement considering that in 2023 only 57% of adults in rural areas had a savings account. This progress, the bank said, reflects the trust that has been generated by the joint work between the Bank and the Federation.
For this reason, the entity aims not only to affiliate more coffee growers, but also to disseminate the multiple benefits of this product, such as:
Union identification document: The Coffee Certificate allows coffee growers to identify themselves with the National Federation of Coffee Growers and participate in union elections that are held every four years.
Savings account benefits: Enables the secure receipt of payments for the sale of coffee.
Aid channeling: Facilitates access to specific programs and support distributed by the Federation.
Transactions: It allows in-person and non-in-person purchases at the national level (enabled by PSE), as well as in-person purchases at the international level.
Free withdrawals: Users can withdraw money at offices, ATMs and Banking Correspondents throughout the country, something especially useful during the harvest season to leverage their activities.
Transfers: They can make transfers between accounts of the Bank and other financial entities.
Service payments: Possibility of paying public services and other authorized collection agreements.
Savings and investment and financing: Access to savings mechanisms such as CDTs and consumer loans for personal needs, as well as commercial operations through Finagro to finance the growth of their businesses.
