Larian Studios has announced that Baldur’s Gate III Patch 7 is now available for PC players, which the company says “has something for everyone,” including official support for modsnew evil endings, and split-screen changes. Console players will receive this same update in October.

The mods have been available in Baldur’s Gate 3 since its launch a year ago. What changes with the update is that Larian Studios offers them support with an official toolkit for modding. The development team says the release of these tools “marks an important moment” for the game “as the community is empowered to unleash their creativity within the Sword Coast setting,” and wonders what could go wrong. Creators have creation tools at their disposal, while players can explore the mods and install them using a manager built into the game.

Those interested in creating or learning more about official support for mods in Baldur’s Gate III you can take a look at the Q&A session of the Official website.

Patch 7 for Baldur’s Gate 3 continues with the addition of new evil endings, which consist of a series of cutscenes for the most vicious runs, accompanied by unique endings if playing as a source character. The update also brings improvements to Honor Mode, adding new Legendary Actions, as well as numerous fixes for Dark Hunger and source character runs. “You may even find a tiefling bard character joining your party… for a while,” says Laran Studios. “Just don’t get too attached to that character.”

Finally, we would like to highlight the new features in split screen, whose gameplay has been changed by a redesign. The split screen mode is now dynamic and each side will merge when players get close to each other and will separate if the characters go their separate ways.

Patch 7 for Baldur’s Gate III isn’t the last one Larian Studios will release, but it does mark a turning point in terms of the addition of content and new features. The studio still owes us a photo mode and cross-play among other features, but as of today the resources dedicated to the game are considerably reduced. Larian Studios has other projects on the way (not related to Baldur’s Gate) that need all of its attention.
