Back to ‘reality’: this is how Colombians begin the return to normality

Start of classes

The countdown has begun for the country’s students to start a new school year.

According to the Ministry of Education, classes in official educational institutions would begin on January 20. However, it is important to remember that The Educational Secretariats of each region can define their school calendarfollowing the requirements established by law.

Law 115 of 1994 establishes that the school year must include at least 40 weeks of academic work and 12 weeks of vacation. In the case of Bogotá, The first period of the school year will begin on January 27.

Return to the usual day

With the end of the Christmas holidays, businesses and banks resume their usual hours.

The Congress of the Republic is also close to starting sessions with the beginning of a new legislative period. This will begin on February 16 and end on June 20.
