Ayuso hides who pays for the luxury penthouse that she enjoys with her partner and that is above the other floor

The ties that unite the Ayuso couple with the Quirón manager who promoted their commission with masks

“Luxury penthouse? It's to die for laughing.” The Madrid president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, thus interrupted the journalist who asked her a question on Wednesday during the press conference after the Government Council. It was the first time that Ayuso mentioned this second residence, despite the fact that its existence was revealed by elDiario.es a month ago. The president's team does not deny that Isabel Díaz Ayuso enjoys a luxury second floor, a penthouse located just above the one her partner bought. They only specify that the president is not currently paying rent. Not for that floor or any other.

Ayuso's irony about the luxurious nature of the penthouse, with a market price of 1.6 million euros, occurred hours after this medium expanded the information about the home: the main owner of the company to which the penthouse belongs Attic is a hotel businessman linked to González Amador through third parties. Until Wednesday, it was only known that this second floor had been acquired by a company, Babia Capital SL, two days after the president's partner registered the home directly below in their name, in May 2023.

What do Alberto González Amador and Ayuso give in exchange for enjoying 176 square meters in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Madrid? If Ayuso doesn't pay the rent, does his partner pay it? Do they just lend it to you from friends? Are there other owners of the home besides the hotel businessman? Are those other owners in the healthcare business? These are some of the unresolved questions since this newspaper reported that Ayuso lived in an apartment acquired by his partner after having defrauded the Treasury of 350,951 euros.

Sixth right, the house after the tax fraud

On June 25, 2022, the Madrid president declared to 'Yo Dona' that she would like to buy a house and stop renting, but that she could not afford it because “housing has skyrocketed in Madrid.” A month later, on July 27, her problems in this area of life began to be solved. Who was, and still is, her partner, Alberto González Amador, bought a 183 square meter apartment in the Chamberí district, one of the most expensive in the capital. The apartment is valued at 837,893.61 euros. “It is not a million-dollar apartment,” the president even said. The market price of the home, according to the Idealista portal, is 1,194,000 euros.

By the time González Amador signed the purchase, in July 2022, an inspection by the Tax Agency was already directed against him. The Treasury had detected in May that his income had skyrocketed in 2020 with a commission of two million euros in the pandemic. However, his taxation had not grown proportionately. Maxwell Cremona SL, Alberto González's company, presented 15 invoices for work that was never carried out. This is how Ayuso's partner tried to demonstrate that their income, once those bills were deducted, was not that high.

The Tax Agency concluded that Alberto González had defrauded the Public Treasury of 350,951 euros in the years 2020 and 2021 in Corporate Tax. The purchase of the home occurred after committing the alleged tax fraud and some of the operations to consummate the deception of the treasury also occurred after his relationship with Ayuso was made public, in May 2021. González Amador paid a significant amount when buying the apartment and signed a mortgage for 500,000 euros.

Once the property was registered, González Amador informed the Madrid City Council on August 4, 2022 that work was beginning on the apartment he had purchased. Subsequently, the businessman disobeyed two requests from the City Council, dated November 2 and December 13 of that year, to stop the reform “immediately.” However, and as published by El País, the works continued at least until December 29, despite the requirements of the City Council.

It was not until the case broke out and his judicial accusation was published that Alberto González Amador recognized that the works were illegal and decided to regularize the situation at the home he shares with the Madrid president. Specifically, 12 days after elDiario.es revealed the tax fraud and the day after the main Madrid opposition party forced the future visit of an inspector to the home.

Seventh right, the attic under suspicion

It took Alberto González Amador a year to go to the Property Registry and register the sixth-right apartment as his. Letting so much go is totally unusual. The buyer risks that an unscrupulous seller will sell it again to a second buyer who, when going to the Registry, does not see that it already has another owner. For some reason, Alberto González did not have that concern.

Two days after Alberto González finally went to the Registry, in May 2023, someone on behalf of a company called Babia Capital SL bought the penthouse located directly above. It could be a simple coincidence if it were not for the fact that the sole administrator of Babia Capital SL is Javier Luis Gómez Fidalgo. This prosecutor from León represented González Amador before the Tax Agency in the investigation that ended with Ayuso's partner charged in a Madrid court.

The buyers of the penthouse knew before signing that Alberto González Amador was going to move with his partner, the Madrid president, to the floor below. Is the 1.6 million penthouse a generous gift from the owners of Babia Capital SL to González and Ayuso? And who is Babia Capital SL really? elDiario.es has accessed documentation that indicates Jorge Carlos Pablos Alonso, a hotelier from León, as the owner of at least 25% of the company. He assures that he is not the only one, although he does not reveal who else owns the company that owns the home. Only the owners of more than 25% of a company are required to declare it.

All roads lead to the president of Quirón Prevention

At one vertex of the Leonese triangle is the administrator of Babia Capital and tax expert Javier Luis Gómez Fidalgo. In another, the hotelier who owns the majority of the company, Jorge Pablos. And there is a third, which does not emerge through Babia Capital SL, at least not yet, but which becomes more important than the other two above. This is the president of Quirón Prevention, Fernando Camino.

Resident in León but frequently seen in Madrid, Fernando Camino has known Alberto González Amador for a decade, when both worked together in the field of mutual insurance companies. Sources close to both assure that the personal bond between them is strong and that the progression of the Ayuso couple cannot be understood without the president of the division dedicated to Prevention of the Quirón Group, the company most favored by the privatization of healthcare in Madrid, the big cake of the regional budgets.

Since there is evidence that Alberto González has a relationship with Isabel Díaz Ayuso (May 2021), payments from Quirón Prevention to the president's partner have multiplied by four. In turn, the Quirón Prevention division doubled its turnover to the Community of Madrid in that period.

And the luxury penthouse? The administrator of Babia Capital SL, the company that owns the property, is Javier Luis Gómez Fidalgo, who in turn works with Fernando Camino in his role as tax attorney. They have been collaborating for “many years,” according to sources close to both.

The collaboration of Fernando Camino and Alberto González Amador has a milestone for the Ayuso couple. González Amador made a spectacular leap in the turnover of his company, Maxwell Cremona SL, in 2020. With a single intermediation between two Spanish companies, he obtained a commission of almost two million euros in the purchase and sale of gloves and masks against Covid . They are the two million that he later did not want to declare to the Treasury.

Well, González Amador made sure that FCS Select would pay him a 4.5% commission if he sold health protection products worth 45 million euros. And who bought? The Galician company Mape. In Mape, Fernando Camino, the president of Quirón Prevention, appears as a director, but also as the owner of the company.
