After going through several twists and turns, the Test Drive saga has ended up in the hands of Nacon and the KT Racing development team, who today have released a new installment called Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown. The title is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam with the intention of lasting over time, which it hopes to do through a post-launch content plan that includes four seasons with their respective pass.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is the successor to Test Drive Unlimited 2, which means that the game takes place on an island. In this installment, players travel to Hong Kong, a location that the development team believes can be both an urban and natural jungle, as well as a modern, technological city that is a symbol of luxury in Asia. Luxury has always been a hallmark of Test Drive, which offers players cars from brands such as Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Koenigsegg, Apollo, and Bugatti, among others.

In Hong Kong, we find two opposing groups: the Sharps and the Streets. The Sharps consider themselves an elite and are characterized by their taste for sophistication and classic luxury, while the Streets believe that impressing and going against the grain are synonymous with success. Players must decide which clan they belong to. Once they have chosen a side, the social experience begins, with the Solar Hotel as its epicenter. This is a complex where each player will have their own headquarters and access to the garage with the vehicles they have acquired.

The Hong Kong Island that players will encounter in Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown has been reproduced in 1:1 scale and offers over 600 km of roads across different terrains, ranging from urban to jungle and trails. Across this varied territory, drivers will take part in a series of races and challenges where the goal is to win, stand out and make themselves known in order to become a respected member of the Solar Crown.

Now that Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is live, KT Racing’s goal is to keep it going “for years.” To start, the development team is guaranteeing a year of content with four seasons, each of which will have a Solar Pass. The Solar Pass for the first two seasons will be given to all players at no additional cost. Each season will see the addition of player levels, clan progression, and events, as well as adjustments and improvements to the gameplay experience. One of the most notable pieces of content is the city of Ibiza and its surroundings, a location that will arrive with the second season on December 24.
