At least two dead in Syria in an airstrike blamed on Israel

The Syrian Ministry of Defense has confirmed the death of two civilians after a bombardment on Monday night in the surroundings of Damascus, of which they have accused Israel.

According to Syria, at 0015 local time, Damascus’s air defenses have been activated against “an air aggression by the Israeli enemy”, involving several missiles launched from the Golan. They have reported that most of them have been intercepted and shot down.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has confirmed the deaths of two people in the attack, reporting that they are two militants supported by Iran, while counting at least five wounded who are members of the Air Defense Forces.

As for the places of the attack, the agency has detailed that it is the area of ​​the Damascus International Airport, an Iranian position near Al Saida Zainab on the outskirts of Damascus, and a laboratory area in Al Kiswah, also near the capital. However, the Syrian government has not confirmed the location of the attacks.
