September 12 (EUROPA PRESS) –
At least three Palestinians, two of them members of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), were killed on Wednesday evening after an Israeli drone attack on a vehicle in the West Bank town of Tulkarem, as part of large-scale operations launched last week by Israeli forces in the northern West Bank.
Hamas has confirmed the death of two of its militants, identified as Salah Amar Badu ‘Al Mario’ and Imad al Din Khaled Shahada ‘Al Omda’, along with another person in the suburb of Iktaba, according to the Palestinian daily ‘Filastín’, which is affiliated with the Islamist group.
During the second day of Israeli military operations in the city, senior Hamas official Abdel Rahman Shadid urged the population to “unite in the trench of resistance” and to “activate all national efforts” to “intensify the confrontation and confuse the occupation in all areas.”
In the context of these new Israeli activities, the Palestinian news agency WAFA has reported on “great destruction” caused by Israeli troops in the city, where they have attacked various infrastructures and destroyed numerous homes, in addition to arresting many Palestinians.
The Israeli military has further intensified its operations in the West Bank following the attacks carried out on October 7 by Hamas and other Palestinian factions, which left some 1,200 people dead and nearly 250 kidnapped. Since then, around 700 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in Israeli and settler actions, while nearly 41,100 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli offensive against the Gaza Strip.
