At least three dead and four missing after iron mine collapse in eastern China

MADRID 3 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

At least three people have died and another four are missing after a collapse occurred this Saturday in an iron mine located in the Chinese province of Shandong, in the east of the country, the Xinhua agency reported.

The accident took place around 3:20 p.m. (local time) in Lanling district, Linyi city, according to the emergency management office of the aforementioned district.

At first, local authorities confirmed that seven miners had been trapped as a result of the collapse. Later, around 9:00 p.m., rescue teams reported the recovery of the bodies of three of the miners.

At the moment, the other four mine workers remain missing and rescue efforts are still ongoing.
