At least three dead and 40 injured by an explosion in a commercial building in the capital of Bangladesh

March 5 (EUROPA PRESS) –

At least three people have died and 40 have been injured in the capital of Bangladesh, Dacca, by an explosion that occurred in a commercial building in the city due to, according to the first investigations by firefighters, an electrical fault.

The Mirpur Road explosion has ruptured the front wall of the third and top floor of the building, sources from the rescue services have explained to the BDNews 24 portal.

The building has caught fire after the explosion and the flames are consuming its clothing stores, its hairdresser and the insurance office it houses.

The firefighters, specifically, believe that the detonation is due to an overload of the air conditioning system that could have ignited some gases in the place.

However, according to police spokesman Shahen Shah, a bomb squad unit has been sent to the scene to determine the nature of the detonation.
