At least thirteen dead and twenty injured in a traffic accident in southern Pakistan

April 11 (EUROPA PRESS) –

At least thirteen people have died and another 20 have been injured when a truck transporting pilgrims to a shrine fell into a ditch in the town of Hub, in the Pakistani province of Balochistan.

Sources consulted by the Geo News television network have reported the balance of victims and have indicated that the vehicle was heading to a sanctuary located in the town of Juzdar.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has directed the administration to shift the injured to hospitals immediately. The authorities have contacted the Sindh regional government to transfer the seriously injured to the town of Karachi.

Taking note of the incident, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has expressed his solidarity with the loved ones of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

The shrine in question, Shah Noorani, is in a remote mountainous region about 200 kilometers from Karachi. Last year a bus carrying pilgrims also caught fire in Hub, killing at least one passenger and reducing the vehicle to ashes.
