March 7 (EUROPA PRESS) –
At least six Palestinians have died during a raid by the Israeli army on Tuesday in the city of Jenin, in the West Bank, in which the military allegedly sought to arrest the main suspect in killing two settlers at the end of February and who would be among those killed.
The Ministry of Health of the Palestinian Authority has put the provisional balance of this assault at six dead and eleven wounded. Of the injured, two of them are in critical condition due to gunshot wounds, in one case after being shot in the chest, reports the Wafa agency.
Military sources have confirmed that among the six dead is the suspect in the murder of two Israeli brothers in Hawara, according to the newspaper ‘Haaretz’. In addition, the Army has also carried out a second operation in a refugee camp near Nablús that has resulted in three detainees, including two sons of the alleged terrorist.
Following these incidents, the spokesman for the Palestinian presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeiné, has accused the Israeli authorities of promoting an escalation of tensions in the area and has asked the international community, in particular the United States, for support to increase the pressure on the government of Benjamin Netanyahu.
