The Ministry of Security and Civil Protection has reported this Friday night that at least six people have died and two have been injured in an attack by unidentified armed individuals.
“This attack had eight victims, (of which) six have died — including three security force agents and three civilians — and two have been injured,” the Ministry reported on Facebook.
The minister of said portfolio, Colonel Daoud Aly Mohammedine, has traveled to the Zantiguila checkpoint -near the road that leads to Ségou-, where the event took place, and which is located about 70 kilometers from Bamako. , the capital of the country.
Mohammedine has transferred his “sincere condolences to the families of the disappeared” and has wished “a speedy recovery to the wounded.”
The general went to see the situation first-hand, as well as “observe the damage, advise and reiterate the security instructions to the members of the post.”
