Dec. 25 (EUROPA PRESS) –
At least six Pakistani soldiers have died this Sunday in different attacks, apparently of a terrorist nature, in the province of Balochistan (southwest) in a new upsurge in violence in the region.
At least five soldiers, including an officer, have been killed during an operation carried out in Kahan, in the Kohlu district, an attack that has been claimed by the separatist group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).
In addition, another Pakistani soldier has died after an exchange of fire during another intelligence operation in the Sambaza area of the Zhob district, which has resulted in two wounded soldiers and a dead terrorist, as reported by the newspaper ‘Dawn’.
On the other hand, at least 15 people have been injured in several separate explosions in the region: in Satellite Town, a suburb of the city of Quetta, and on a street in that city, as well as in a police station in the town of Hub , among other.
The region has had the presence of the BLA guerrilla since the 2000s, considered a terrorist organization by Pakistan, the United Kingdom or the United States. Since then it has waged a bloody struggle with the Islamabad authorities to achieve self-determination for Balochistan.
