At least seven people have been killed and 19 others injured in a Russian airstrike early this morning against Lviv in western Ukraine, just 70 kilometres from the Polish border, according to the head of the Military Administration of the region, Maxim Kozitski.
As reported on Telegram by the Mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovi, Among the deceased are three children.
Sadovi had previously reported the activation of anti-aircraft defences in the city, where several residential buildings were damaged by the attack.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia has attacked various regions of the country with drones and missiles this morning.
The scale and consequences of this latest Russian attack, which comes after more than 51 people were killed on Tuesday in another bombing of a military institution in the central Ukrainian city of Poltava, are still unknown.
