The Syrian authorities announce the suspension of activities at the airport as a result of the bombing
May 2. (EUROPE PRESS) –
At least one soldier has died and seven other people, including two civilians, have been injured this Monday as a result of an attack allegedly perpetrated by the Israeli Army against the facilities of the Aleppo airport, which is currently out of service as a result of the bombing.
The Syrian Defense Ministry has reported that Israel has fired rockets targeting Aleppo International Airport, as well as other points. Likewise, it has reported the balance of victims and that there have been “some material losses”.
As reported by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, based in London and informant in the Arab country, several explosions have been heard in the areas near the aforementioned airport and the military airfield in Aleppo, causing a fire in an ammunition warehouse.
Israel generically recognizes attacks in Syria arguing that it acts to prevent the establishment of Iranian bases in the country and the shipment of weapons to the Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah by the Iranian authorities, which support Damascus within the framework of the war that broke out in 2011.
