At least one dead and five injured when an overpass collapses in western Russia

At least one person has died and five others have been injured this Monday due to the collapse of an overpass located in the city of Vyazma, in western Russia, near the border with Belarus.

The authorities have indicated that a total of six people were hospitalized after being injured due to the collapse in the province of Smolensk, although one of them later died, as explained by the Ministry of Emergencies.

In a statement, the Government explained that several vehicles, including a truck, were in the area at the time of the collapse, according to information collected by Russian news agencies.

Emergency services are working at the scene of the incident. The regional government, Vasili Anokhin, has moved to the area and is monitoring the situation.
