September 14 (EUROPA PRESS) –
At least ten Palestinian civilians have died in the early hours of Saturday as a result of a new wave of bombings by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on different points in the Gaza Strip.
Two of them were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a tent sheltering displaced people in Khan Yunis, in the Al Attar area, where an undetermined number of civilians were also injured, according to the Wafa news agency.
Two other civilians have also been killed in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza City and the Yabalia camp, where a kindergarten used as a shelter for displaced people was hit by the attack.
Local sources have informed the same agency of the deaths of six other civilians, including a woman and three children, as a result of another air attack, this time on a family home in the Al Tuffah neighbourhood, in the east of Gaza City, where several people have been injured and a number yet to be determined remain missing.
The death toll from the Israeli army’s offensive against the Gaza Strip following the attacks carried out on October 7 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian factions has surpassed the threshold of 41,100, Gazan authorities, controlled by the Islamist group, reported on Thursday.
Specifically, the Gazan Ministry of Health has indicated in a statement published on its Telegram account that the offensive has so far left 41,118 confirmed dead, to which 95,125 are added wounded. It has also accused Israeli troops of committing three “massacres” during the last day, with 34 dead and 96 wounded.
The offensive was launched after the attacks on October 7, which left some 1,200 dead and nearly 250 kidnapped, according to Israeli authorities. More than 690 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli security forces and in attacks by settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since that date.
