At least four people have died in a shooting that occurred near a migrant camp in the French town of Loon-Plage, in northern France, according to police sources confirmed to the BFMTV network.
After the shooting, which occurred between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. this afternoon, an individual surrendered to the authorities at the Ghyvelde police station, on the border with Belgium, to confess his responsibility and also assume responsibility for a fifth murder that occurred previously. in the French town of Wormhout, also near the Belgian border, according to sources close to the investigation.
According to sources from the French newspaper ‘La Voix du Nord’, among the deceased are two migrants of Kurdish origin and two employees of a port security company. The victim of the Wormout murder is the head of a local transport company.
Investigation sources have currently identified the detainee as a 22-year-old young man from the nearby town of Dunkirk, without giving further details.
