At least four arrested for throwing explosives at funeral attendees in southern Germany

STUTTGART (GERMANY), June 14 (DPA/EP) –

The German Police have arrested four people for their alleged involvement in an attack with explosives against a funeral held last week in the city of Altbach, in the southwest of the country, where a dozen people were injured.

Three of those arrested are men between the ages of 19 and 21, while the Police have indicated that a fourth suspect, previously detained, could not be directly linked to the incident.

Security forces have carried out a series of searches in five houses in the city of Ludwigsburg, in the federal state of Baden-Wurttemberg, after a man threw a hand grenade into a crowd of about 500 people during a funeral. .

The Police have explained that the main suspect is a 23-year-old young man, who was chased and beaten by the assistants. He was later transferred to an area hospital and is now in police custody.
