At least five dead in Russian strikes in Kharkiv; ICC urges arrest of Putin in Mongolia

The city of Kharkiv, in northeastern Ukraine, was bombed again this Friday, August 30, by Moscow’s troops, leaving at least five people dead and more than 50 injured, local authorities reported. Meanwhile, the president of the invaded country, Volodymyr Zelensky, dismissed the commander of his country’s Air Force, a day after kyiv confirmed the fall of an F-16 fighter jet, which occurred on August 26, during a Russian attack in which the pilot of the aircraft died. While the attacks continue, the International Criminal Court (ICC) is asking Mongolia to arrest the leader of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, during the visit he has scheduled to that country on September 3. Since 2023, there has been an arrest warrant against Putin for the kidnapping of Ukrainian children, who have been transferred to Russia during the ongoing invasion.
