At least five Palestinian civilians have been killed and a number yet to be determined have been injured in the early hours of this Sunday as a result of a new series of airstrikes by the Israel Defense Forces, in Gaza City, in the center of the Fringe.
The Israeli Army’s bombings have hit a residential area near the Al Salam mosque, located in the Al Sabra neighborhood, in the south of the aforementioned city, the Palestinian news agency Wafa has reported.
In addition to the five deaths, the attack has resulted in a currently unknown number of injured and missing people, so search and rescue tasks continue to be active in the area.
The Gazan authorities, controlled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), have put this Saturday at 43,552 dead and 102,765 injured due to the military offensive unleashed by Israel against the enclave after the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 by the group. Islamist and other Palestinian factions, including 44 dead and 81 injured during the last 24 hours.
The offensive against Gaza was launched after the aforementioned attacks on October 7, 2023, which left some 1,200 dead and nearly 250 kidnapped, according to Israeli authorities. Added to these tolls are more than 750 Palestinians killed at the hands of Israeli security forces and in attacks perpetrated by settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
