MADRID 18 Nov. () –
The Ukrainian authorities have reported this Sunday the death of at least eight people, including two children, as well as twenty people injured after a missile attack by the Russian Army against a densely populated area of the city of Sumi.
As announced by the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office on its Telegram channel, among the fatalities are two minors aged 9 and 14, and three children among the twenty injured who required medical assistance.
The attack took place around 8:37 p.m. (7:37 p.m. in mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands) on a densely populated residential neighborhood, causing damage to at least ten high-rise buildings. Likewise, a series of vehicles have been damaged, although law enforcement officials, who are working with prosecutors to document the consequences of the bombing, have not yet specified the number.
The Sumi Regional Prosecutor’s Office has accused Russian troops of using “methods of war prohibited by International Law” in this attack, for which it has announced the opening of a preliminary investigation into “the violation of the laws and customs of war “.
