At least eight people have died and twelve have been injured this Monday after a van collided with an articulated truck at an intersection in the Vietnamese district of Nui Thanh, in the province of Quang Nam, in the south of the country.
The collision between the van and the truck has caused the immediate death of six people, leaving fourteen people injured, who have been taken to a medical center. Later, two of the injured died in the hospital, as reported by the Vietnam National Road Safety Committee in a statement.
The van, which was carrying workers from various companies who were on their way to a medical examination, overturned after the collision with the truck, which was coming from the opposite direction and has not suffered much damage.
The Nui Thanh district police have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the accident, as reported by the newspaper ‘Giao Thong’.
