At least seven people have died and 30 more have been injured after a shooting in the city of Hamburg, in northern Germany. The event occurred in a church of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Deelböge street, and the police are carrying out a large-scale operation in the Alsterdorf area to look for the escaped shooters.
The city’s emergency application has warned all residents who live near the scene so that they do not leave their homes and, if they are on the street, seek refuge in the nearest building.
A police spokesman clarified that “all the dead have bullet wounds”, but did not advance any hypothesis about the motive for the crime. In this sense, the authorities have asked through social networks that “no assumptions be shared or rumors spread” about these events since the motivation of the attackers is still not clear.

The police received the first notice at around 9:15 p.m. and arrived at the scene within a few minutes. In fact, the first officers to arrive claim have heard a shot on the top floor, where it seems that they found the last of the deceased. The police believe that the shooter or shooters may have fled, although at the moment they do not rule out the possibility that they are one or more of the dead.
The mayor of Hamburg, peter schentscher expressed his shock via Twitter: “The reports from Alsterdorf/Groß Borstel are shocking. My condolences to the families of the victims. The emergency services are working at full speed to locate the perpetrators and clarify the background.”
The shooting at the Jehovah’s Witness church is the bloodiest crime Hamburg has happened in the last 30 years since a pimp and his accomplices stormed a brothel on Budapester Strasse and opened fire. On that occasion, two people died and another six were injured.
