September 15 () –
At least 41 people have been injured as a result of Russian airstrikes in Kharkiv, according to the latest official figures from the Ukrainian authorities.
“The number of victims has risen to 41,” said the military governor of Kharkiv province, Oleg Sinegubov, on his channel on the social network Telegram.
“Rescue operations are still ongoing. A Russian air force bomb hit a multi-storey building. There was a fire. The floors have collapsed. There are people under the rubble,” he said.
Among the injured are at least three minors, according to Sinegubov, who has highlighted the mobilisation of emergency services: rescuers, paramedics and community services. In total, 22 houses were damaged and more than 750 windows were broken in this attack, according to the Kharkiv City Council.
Sinegubov said that a total of four bombs were dropped from the air. One fell in Kharkiv and the other three in towns in the region. Bombings were also carried out in the Sumi and Donetsk regions.
“There are usually at least a hundred such bombings a day. Yesterday there were 128 air launches and this terror can only be countered with a systemic solution, with a long-range solution,” he added, referring to Kiev’s persistent requests for the delivery of long-range missiles by its allies.
These missiles would be used to “destroy Russian military aircraft at their bases.” “It is an obvious solution,” he added, before openly mentioning the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy because “they can help save lives with their decision.”
