( Spanish) — The government of Sao Paulo in Brazil reported this Sunday in a statement that at least 36 people have died due to the heavy rains that have hit the cities of San Sebastián and Ubatuba in recent days.

So far, 228 people are displaced and another 338 in street situations, according to the authorities.

The report indicates that more than 130 teams, with the support of 23 vehicles and 7 aircraft, are engaged in the actions that are concentrated in both regions.

It is expected that this Monday the state governor and the Civil Defense coordinator will meet with representatives of the Federal government.

Brazilian President Lula da Silva said on Sunday in his Twitter account Twitter who will be in Sao Paulo on Monday to continue efforts to deal with the tragedy.
