At least 22 people have died, many of them children, and dozens have been injured in a new bombing carried out by the Israeli Army against a school located in the Jabalia refugee camp, located in the north of the Gaza Strip and which It has already been previously subject to other Israeli attacks.
The bombing has left behind several fires at the Abu Hussein Primary School, which is affiliated with the United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and houses numerous people who have been forced to move in The north of the enclave since the Israeli offensive began a year ago, according to information from the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
Some of the dead and injured have been transferred to the hospitals of Kamal Adwan and Al Awda, in the north, despite the fact that emergency services are overwhelmed due to the continuous attacks, the strong blockade and the destruction of health facilities. .
For its part, the Israeli Army has indicated that in recent hours it has carried out “precision” attacks against “terrorists” from the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Islamic Jihad, whom it accuses of having a “control room” from which coordinates their commands in a building formerly used as a school in northern Gaza.
Thus, they have published a list with the names of twelve alleged terrorists who would be present at the Abu Hussein school and have clarified that all of them were involved in launching rockets against Israel and in attacks against the country’s troops. In this sense, they have defended that they have taken the necessary measures to “limit damage to civilians” during the attack.
