At least 13 dead in a Russian attack on the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia

MADRID Jan. 8 () –

At least 13 people have died in a massive attack launched this Wednesday afternoon by the Russian Armed Forces on the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, located in eastern Ukraine, according to a preliminary toll of victims released by local authorities.

The governor, Ivan Fedorov, has accused Russia on his Telegram account of being “a terrorist state” for this new bombing, which would have hit an industrial area in Zaporizhzhia. Emergency personnel are working in the attacked areas, where it is not ruled out that the number of victims will increase.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reported “dozens” of injuries and has called on the international community to continue putting pressure on Russia to put an end to this type of actions. “There is nothing more cruel than bombing a city from the air,” the president lamented.
