Multi Versus it remains one of the most popular experiences on the market, made possible by new content debuting regularly. With Season 1 in full swing, the news keeps coming. Now, a recent update added a new character to the roster and corrected one of the aspects most criticized by players.

The multiplayer title from Player First Games and Warner Bros. welcomed Gizmo, the tender creature of the franchise gremlins. We must remember that this character was going to debut on Tuesday, September 8, but the developers postponed his release for a couple of days.

The most recent patch He also applied a rebalancing that affected all 18 characters on the roster, which will certainly keep things interesting in the competitive scene. Some of these changes come on the heels of the new collision system, which received a complete overhaul after much criticism from the community.

The MultiVersus collision system is renewed

Specifically, competitive play altered the hurtboxes and hitboxes of all characters. In case you don’t know, the first concept refers to the system that delimits the areas in which a character can take damage, while the second refers to the system that detects collisions between characters when an offensive move is made.

In a nutshell, the game will detect that an attack was successful when the hitbox is above the opposing character’s hurtbox.

So hurtboxes are now shaped like the fighter’s 3D model, which, along with revamped hitboxes for most attacks, should provide a more accurate and fair collision system.

The most recent update also introduced a new projectile system. If 2 of those ranged attacks collide with each other, they will both be destroyed. On the other hand, there will be new “heavy” projectiles that will be able to pass through weaker ones, they will not be able to be reflected and will only disappear if they collide with another one that has the same properties.

Hopefully these changes will provide a fairer and more engaging experience for all players. Of course, the developers are ready to release additional patches in case of any unforeseen event.
