ASUSTOR’s new ASW209X 2nd generation switch is designed for unmanaged environments where high-speed Ethernet speeds are required, compatible with existing Ethernet infrastructures, in a compact form factor and without any management required. Called Switch’nstor 9 Gen 2 (ASW209X)looking for a quick and easy solution to connect your most powerful NAS to the network with high-speed Ethernet-based interfaces.
It has a total of 9 ports, 8 of them RJ-45 with maximum link speeds of 2.5 Gigabit per second and an SFP+ port that we can configure with interfaces up to 10 Gigabit per second. All hardware is balanced to deliver the best parallel performance for all ports, with support for jumbo frames up to 10K.
Technical characteristics:
CPU: RTL8373 + RTL8224
Ethernet ports: 9x RJ-45 (8x 2.5GbE, 1x 10GbE SFP+)
Port speeds:
RJ-45: 100/1000/2500 Mbps
SFP+: 1000/2500/10000 Mbps
Jumbo frame support: 10K
Supported standards:
IEEE 802.3 (Ethernet)
IEEE 802.3u (100BASE-T)
IEEE 802.3ab (1000BASE-T)
IEEE 802.3z (1000BASE-X)
IEEE 802.3bz (2.5GBase-T)
IEEE 802.3ae (10GBASE-SR, 10GBASE-LR, 10GBASE-ER, 10GBASE-LX4)
IEEE 802.3x (Full Duplex Flow Control)
Switching capacity: 60 Gbps
MAC Address Table: 4K
Advanced Features: IEEE 802.3X traffic management
Power consumption: 12 watts
Refrigeration: Fanless design
Dimensions: 190 x 100 x 28 mm
It has a maximum exchange capacity of 60 Gbps with a maximum MAC table of 4000 addresses. The best thing is that this processing power does not require fans and only consumes 12W. It is a very efficient switch that will reduce consumption and noise in small departments, offering new levels of performance with the existing wiring in the office.
The price and availability are not yet known, but it will be on the market soon.
