Asus wants ROG Ally to remove the barrier between gamers

Asus presents the ROG Ally, an 'enemy' of the Steam Deck

Advantages of the ROG Ally

To put it in context, its performance is only lower than consoles like the Xbox Series X, which has 12.1 TFLOPs, or the PS5, which has 10.6 TFLOPs. However, when comparing it with the hybrid consoles on the market, this performance is higher, which could open up the opportunity for continuity with PC gaming, since it is possible to have all the games in the libraries without losing quality.

By running on the Windows operating system, the brand sought to have a minimal learning curve and not be tied to a very specific library or system. In this way, ROG Ally will be able to have games from Steam, Epic Store or Riot Games, and even because of its connection with Windows, it will have Xbox Game Pass and it will run games in the cloud with X Cloud.

Another of its advantages is that despite the fact that it is designed as a laptop, it has features that allow it to be a stationary console and compete with the current generation. First for the ability to connect to the TV or monitor with a single cable and add controls, mouse and keyboard to play natively as a console or PC.

In addition, it has compatibility with the XG Mobile, another ASUS portable device that works as a docking station and adds a graphics card to increase video quality.

Also thinking that it is a device that is mostly in the hands of the gamer, an ergonomic system was designed with positioning of buttons and levers similar to those of an Xbox controller, and adds textures and rubber bands to improve traction.

In addition, it has a heat dissipation system very similar to that of copper-based gaming laptops, and fans that extract heat without the user noticing it on the hands or body.

It has a battery that will last two hours in highly demanding games and up to 6 hours in apps like YouTube or Netflix. Unlike other handheld consoles that deliver 25-30 frames per second, ROG Ally delivers 50-60 frames on par with 9th generation consoles.

With the new launch, ASUS also announced that the basic version will cost $599 in the United States and its 8.6 TFLOPs version will cost $699, although it will arrive in Mexico the price it will have is still a mystery.
