ASUS has presented this Thursday its new ‘smartphone’ Zenfone 9, a completely redesigned compact terminal that mounts the mobile platform Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and integrates a 5.9-inch AMOLED screen.
This device succeeds the Zenfone 8 series phone, introduced in February this year and made up of the Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip models, with different screen sizes and battery capacity.
Zenfone 9 maintains the size of the predecessor’s screen, 5.9 inches, as well as its weight, 169 grams. However, one of the main differences between Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 9 is that the latter features a larger chip (SoC), with a 10 percent higher ratio.
In addition, it has a 40 percent larger camera, made up of two lenses out of frameunlike the previous device. Also, the size of its battery is 7.5 larger than the model presented a few months ago.
Other aesthetic details that the manufacturer has highlighted during the presentation is the format of its bezels, square and with straight lines –compared to the curves of the Zenfone 8–, which improve the grip of the device.
ZENFONE 9, FAST AND EFFICIENT
After making a comparison between both iterations, Asus has released the technical specifications of its latest release, which is characterized by having a material of textured and resistant surface. This helps reduce the weight of the back cover by 36 percent compared to the previous generation Zenfone.
The technology company has highlighted that, to take advantage of the device’s lightweight design, it has introduced a ZenTouch multifunction power button, located on the side.
With it, you can unlock your phone with a simple touch on the integrated fingerprint sensor or access other functions, such as voice dictation, opening notifications or refreshing a web page.
The screen of the new terminal is 120Hz AMOLED, offering Delta E <1 color accuracy and snappy scrolling, as well as cinema-quality 115 percent sRGB and 112 percent DCI-P3 color gala.
It also stands out for being equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. This allows the CPU to increase its work by 15 percent and the GPU to be 50 percent fasterimprovements that translate into greater power and efficiency of the device.
On the other hand, the manufacturer has mentioned that it integrates a renewed cooling system, which reduces the temperature and prevents it from overheating during use.
Thus, it is made of materials such as graphite and copper and a 1727 mm2 vapor chamber and the total surface of thermal material is 13.5 percent larger than that of the Zenfone 8.
It is also equipped with an upgraded 4300mAh battery and low-power components. It is charged with a 30W HyperCharge adapter, has fast charging technology and can reach almost two days of autonomy.
In the camera section, Zenfone 9 stands out for integrating two lenses, the main one being 50 megapixels (MP), with an IMX766 sensor. The other rear lens is 12MP, with an IMX363 sensor and the front one is 12MP, with autofocus.
The first of these lenses integrates a 6-axis hybrid gimbal stabilizer, which eliminates blurring and vibrations, as well as compensating for displacements of up to 3 degrees, so it softens photographs taken in motion.
This camera also introduces the new Light Trail mode in its beta version, as well as the modes Night, Pro, Panoramic, Slow Motion and Timelapse.
As for sound, Asus Zenfone 9 is equipped with Dual Stereo Qualcomm WSAB8835 speakers and supports Audio HDR, 3D Surround and Audio Windscreen technologies, which reduces wind noise during video recording in unfavorable conditions.
Asus Zenfone 9, which works with android 12 and the ZenUI 9 customization layer, is now available in four different colors: Moonlight White (white), Sunset Red (red), Starry Blue (blue) and Midnight Black (black).
Its price varies depending on the chosen configuration and can be purchased from €829 in the standard version (8GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM), 879 euros (8GB of RAM and 256GB of ROM) and 929 (16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage).
However, the first of these versions can be purchased from this Thursday until next August 27 with a discount of 70% applied to the final price.

The company has also presented its new range of smart accessories. Specifically, the Zenfone 9 is presented as the first phone to use the new system of Asus Connex Modular Cases.
These cases feature a kickstand that launches a selected app or game when opened, so you can enjoy the content. without having to hold the device.
Also, the new series has other accessories such as a Connex business card holder or the smart backpack holder. This attaches the terminal to the backpack strap and at the desired angle for Use it as an action camera.
In this way, the phone can be inserted or removed from the magnetic support without problems and safely, since it integrates a security cord that anchors it to this structure and can be operated with one hand.
