July 11 (Portaltic/EP) –
Assasin’s Creed: Liberation HD and Silent Hunter 5, two of the 15 video games to which Ubisoft will no longer support ‘online’ from next September 1, they will also cease to be playable in Steam from that date, since they will not even be accessible even if they have been previously purchased.
At the end of last April, the French developer and distributor closed the servers of dozens of its titles for platforms such as PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Wii U.
He then pointed out that the closure of the servers and their subsequent loss of online multiplayer mode would not affect single-player features, an option that would continue to be available in those games..
On the other hand, Ubisoft published a few days ago a list with 15 new titles that would be affected, which will also be left without online services and support. These video games would no longer be available as of September 1.
In this list company recognized that one of these games, Space Junkies for PC and compatible with HTC Vive and Oculus, it would cease to be available completely, as it is a title that can be played exclusively ‘online’.
Now, as reflected on the Steam website, neither Assassin’s Creed: Liberation HD neither Silent Hunter 5 they will be available for purchase “at the request of the publisher”, that is, Ubisoft.
In addition, this web page indicates that users who have downloaded these video games will not be able to access them again “after September 1, 2022”, so that they would be completely disabled.
Other titles that are part of the list of, such as far cry 3, they can still be purchased from the Steam store. However, it warns that both the ‘deluxe’ edition and the downloadable content (DLCfor its acronym in English) will also no longer be available after that date.
