After the surprise resignation of Hernando Jose Gomez to Asobancaria presidency and from some information that was made public about the reasons for this decision, the organization explained what happened.
According to Asobancaria, its board of directors received a complaint made by an official of the union against Gómez, which was investigated internally.
That inquiry included: “Guarantee the accompaniment and safe space of the official, listen to the parties involved, follow due process and strictly comply with legal regulations and corporate ethical principles contemplated in the Convention of Belem Do Pará, which establishes the postulates to prevent violence against the woman“.
On November 10, an extraordinary meeting was called and it was decided to unanimously accept the resignation presented by Hernando José Gómez, “with immediate effects and valuing your work in the last two years“.
In addition, Asobancaria said, the situation was brought to the attention of the competent authorities.
