JAPAN

The city of Fujikawaguchiko, famous for admiring the famous Mount Fuji, has erected a large net barrier to block the view and discourage people, especially the increasingly numerous tourists, from stopping to take photos. Pedestrians block traffic, park in prohibited places, smoke in disregard of prohibitions and provoke the anger of locals. Hence the 2.5 m by 20 m fence.

At least 100 people have died in the last four days in Myanmar due to the high temperatures, within the framework of an exceptional heat wave that has been hitting several Asian nations for weeks. Among the victims are mainly the elderly, the sick and also several children, some of them only four or five months old. The maximum temperature was 45 degrees in Monywa.

RUSSIA

The Rosstat statistical institute reported that at least two million workers in various sectors are currently missing in Russia. In addition, more than 15% of the country’s companies have begun to hire prisoners who have not yet served their entire sentences, with a special permit from the Moscow authorities similar to that of hiring for the “special military operation” in Ukraine.

UZBEKISTAN

Uzbekistan is selling a large part of its gold reserves, taking advantage of its high price, to reduce state debt and cover budget deficits, although economists consider this measure imprudent to avoid depleting strategic reserves. In March, Uzbeks ranked first in the world in gold sales.
