The ASEAN Disaster Management Committee (ACDM) held its 42nd meeting together with the 18th AHA Center Board of Directors, the 3rd ASEAN Disaster Resilience Platform (ADRP), the 5th ACDM plus China, the 5th ACDM plus Japan, and the 4th ACDM plus the Republic of Korea . The aim of the meeting was to enhance regional cooperation in disaster management and humanitarian aid.
The Vietnam Dam and Disaster Management Authority of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, serving as the ACDM Chairmanship in 2023, hosted the meetings from June 13 to 16 in Da Nang City, Vietnam, through a hybrid format.
The meetings took note of the progress in the implementation of the AADMER Work Program 2021-2025, in particular the Ha Long Ministerial Declaration on Strengthening ASEAN Anticipatory Action in Disaster Management, the Mid-term Review of the Implementation of AADMER Work Program 2021-2025, and the plan to conduct the ASEAN-23 Emergency Disaster Response Simulation Exercise in Indonesia and the 1st ASEAN Disaster Resilience Forum as part of the Week of ASEAN Disaster Management in Singapore.

The 3rd Meeting of the ADRP was co-chaired by the presidents of the ACDM, the Meeting of Senior Officials (SOM) and the Meeting of Senior Economic Officials (SEOM), respectively. They exchanged views on resilience challenges and updated on the ASEAN Disaster Resilient Communities Pilot Project: Wider ASEAN Application.
