The German Federal Prosecutor’s Office reported on Monday the arrest of an alleged agent of the Moroccan secret services in the Cologne region.
The suspect has already been brought before an investigating judge and has been ordered to remain in custody, the Karlsruhe section of the Public Prosecutor’s Office has reported.
He is accused of having engaged with the Moroccan secret services to spy on the protest movements of Moroccans living in Germany on an unspecified date between April 2021 and March 2022. He would have confessed to having transmitted information to at least one person.
The detainee is a Moroccan national, but his age has not been reported. In addition, his address has been registered, according to information from the Prosecutor’s Office.
