In addition to the launch of its new cores and architectures for high-performance SoCs, ARM has shared with us its plans for the future within the processor market for mobile devices and end customers.
After the launch during the past years of the ARM TCS22 and TCS23, equipped with the DSI-110 and DSU-120 modules with Cortex-X3/Cortex-A715/Cortex-A510 cores and Immortalis-G715 GPUs and the Cortex-X4/Cortex-A720/Cortex-A520 and Immortales G720 GPUs respectively; ARM is now betting on the combined solution of the Extreme performance Cortex-X925 coresthe ARM Cortex-A725 of performance and Cortex-A520 high efficiency (recycled from the last generation) and integrated into the DSI-120 cluster. They are accompanied by the Immortalis-G925 GPU and the interconnection system CoreLink.
However, the company’s plans are already defined for next year. It will be in 2025 when the new CPU and GPU architectures arrive, completely renewing the three types of cores.
So, ARM Travis They will be the highest performance cores, successors to the current Cortex-X925. They will be accompanied by nuclei ARM Gelas, that will replace the current ARM Cortex-A725. Finally, the most modest cores aimed at maximizing efficiency will be the ARM Nevis, leaving behind the Cortex-A520 that have been with us for two generations. The cluster system will also be updated, going from the DSU-120 that has already been used in the last two generations, to the new DSU-Pilatus.
All these cores will be interconnected with the system CoreLink and will communicate with the ARM Immortalis-Drage GPU.
We will be attentive to any news that the company reveals about its new generation of SoCs, although now all eyes will be on the current DSU-120 with Cortex-X925 + Cortex-A725 and Cortex-A520 along with Immortalis-G925 GPU.
