Arctic presents its passive heatsink for M2 Pro SSD



He Arctic M2 Pro It is a new aluminum heatsink for M.2 NVME/PCIe SSD. It is a model made up of two pieces: A lower tray and an upper block with four diagonal extrusions that help dissipate heat from the memory chips and the controller that make up the SSD. In this way, temperatures are reduced so that the SSDs maintain stable performance.

Two are included thermal pads that cover both sides of the heatsink to maximize contact between the chips and the metal surface. Even adding extra thickness to the SSD, the Arctic M2 Pro is much more compact than those bulky fan-included solutions that we’re starting to see for the latest PCIe Gen 5 SSDs. In fact, it’s a completely passive cooling solution that doesn’t need any fans.

Its size allows it to also be used on the PlayStation 5, since it does not protrude from the space that the console has for the SSD. In total, it measures 78 mm long, 25 mm wide and 14 mm high, with a weight of so only 44 grams.
