Oct. 17 (Portaltic/EP) –
Apple Music has incorporated a functionality that allows artists to create ‘playlists’ with the songs that were part of their previous concerts or that they will play in upcoming ones, with the aim of them sharing them on social networks to promote their tour dates.
This feature is part of Apple Music for Artists, a format aimed at musicians and groups, which allows them to create a professional profile to personalize their biography, add song lyrics, share videos and promote their music, as well as access listening metrics.
The company seeks offer artists new ways to connect with their audience and has developed a new function called Set List, with which they can create playlists with songs that have been part of their ‘setlists’ or that They will be repeated in their next concerts.
More specifically, he clarified that he hopes that artists will find in this new function a way “to reach fans who were not able to attend the live experience or reconnect with those who went to the concert.”
Thus, for a better result, Apple has recommended maintain Bandsintown account updated with their concert and tour dates, which will be an “easier way” to create these song lists.
Upcoming concert dates can also be linked to the artist’s page on Shazam, Spotlight search, and Apple Maps. Are “can make setting up the song list easier in Apple Music for Artists accounts,” the firm stated in a statement shared on its website.
To use the option of song repertoires or SetList, These must access the Content section. This shows “all playlists that are active” on the Apple Music artist page or in the process of being created.
Once the ‘Create new playlist’ option has been selected, you must have an artist image and choose the type of show for which you are creating a song list (a concert or a tour, among other options), as well as add the name of this event.
If your Apple Music for Artists account has been linked to Bandsintown with Shazam, artists should see upcoming scheduled concerts to select one of them. Otherwise, you can manually enter a date, providing the exact location and date.
Apple has also recommended using the search function to select songs for the setlist. These can be searched either by the name of the song or by pasting the link of that Apple Music song in the search bar.
Ideally, this list of songs includes those that were performed at previous concerts, with the goal of “more accurately capture the entire tour.” Additionally, if there are ‘covers’ or collaborations with other musicians, these others may also be included in these playlists.
It is possible to create as many ‘setlists’ as there are concerts held or scheduled and, to share it with users on social networks, you must use the ‘Promote’ option from the web or from the Artists application, available on iOS.
If you want to delete them, you must select them from the Contents section. If they hide, They will be saved in the profile from Apple Music for Artists, in case you want to recover in the future. By deleting them, however, they will permanently disappear from both the platform and the users’ libraries.
