Apple Maps comes to the web

July 25 (Portaltic/EP) –

Apple has launched its web-based mapping service, allowing users to access driving directions, landmarks and additional information provided by others.

Apple Maps has arrived on the web in an open beta mode that allows you to navigate and explore new places from Safari and Chrome for Mac, iPad and Windows and Edge for Windows.

It is initially available only in English, although Apple plans to incorporate support for more languages, browsers and platforms over time, it has reported in its News page.

Apple Maps for the web currently offers driving and walking directions, points of interest, and information shared by users through photos, comments, and ratings.

It also allows you to order food from restaurant listings and discover new places and establishments with selected guides. In the coming months it will incorporate the ‘Look Around’ function, the real-image view similar to Google Maps’ Street View.
