Apple will delay the launch of its AI-powered image generation tools Genmoji and Image Playground, which will arrive with iOS 18.2, which is scheduled for release in December.
Last June, the company presented Apple Intelligence, an AI system that seeks to offer an integrated and personal experience, since the functions it brings together are designed to understand the needs of users and their context.
Among them are: Genmoji, designed to improve the way users communicate with the option to create emoji directly generative AI; as well as Image Playgroundwhich allows you to create images in a matter of seconds and also in three styles (animation, drawing and illustration).
The firm has delayed the incorporation of Apple Intelligence in iOS 18, so that the launch of the new iPhone 16 – which will be presented this Monday – will lack some functionalities AI-poweredwhich will be implemented through software updates.
Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman He recalled that these functions will begin to be implemented on Apple devices starting in October, through iOS 18.1. The image generation functions, however, will arrive through iOS 18.2, which is scheduled for release in December.
Gurman also noted in this weekly newsletter that the company plans to introduce some M4 Mac computers – including a Mini with an M4 chip – and new iPads in October, including a new Mini-format tablet.
