The tourism ministers of the 21 APEC member economies issued a statement after their meeting on Sunday in Urubamba, Peru. The joint statement reflects the results of the APEC Tourism Ministerial Meeting chaired by the Minister of Commerce and Tourism of Peru, Elizabeth Galdo.

Under the motto “Innovating Pathways for Sustainable Tourism Growth”, the declaration highlights the need for innovative approaches to address current challenges in the tourism sector, emphasizing the benefits of the transition of tourism businesses to the formal economy. that supports the growth of small and medium-sized businesses and builds resilience.

The Ministers took note of Peru’s work in developing a platform to promote cooperation among APEC economies with respect to the development of sustainable tourism throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
