The Russian Freedom Legion, an opposition paramilitary group to the Kremlin, has appealed to Russian soldiers to abandon the “slaveholding” regime to which they are being subjected by the president, Vladimir Putin, and has made contact lines available to them so that they can change their side safely.

“The Putin regime puts you in the position of going to die in a foreign country, or suffer cannibalistic prison sentences for refusing to become an invader,” says this militia in a last publication on its Telegram account.

“We urge you to discard this slave dilemma and put yourself on the side of good,” adds a message in which they have also published three telephone numbers so that disaffected soldiers can lay down their weapons or join them.

Russian Freedom Legion and Russian Volunteer Corps are two paramilitary groups –formed by citizens of that country– that in recent days have become known after a series of sabotages and skirmishes committed in the Russian region of Belgorod, which it borders Ukraine.
