Anti-corruption asks the judge in the Koldo case to cite the current Undersecretary of Transportation as investigated

The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office has asked the judge of the National Court investigating the ‘Koldo case’ to cite as investigated the current Undersecretary of Transport, Jesús Manuel Gómez García, the general director of personnel management of ADIF, Michaux Miranda, and the former Secretary General of State Ports, Álvaro Sánchez Manzanares.

In a letter, to which Europa Press has had access, the Public Ministry requests the statement, ensuring that from the report recently provided by the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard “it appears that they could have exerted certain pressure on the people responsible for “the entities that had to award the contracts for the supply of masks.”

All of this, the prosecutor points out, “without allowing or giving rise to the possibility of examining other offers or budgets, taking for granted and without any option to refute the final award decision, that the final winner was going to be Management Solutions,” the main company investigated in the case.

“In principle, without prejudice to further considerations, such conduct could be fit within the contours of the crime of influence peddling. Therefore, in order to guarantee the full effectiveness of the right to defense and prevent material situations of defenselessness from occurring against them, it is considered appropriate that their statements must be taken as investigated,” adds Anti-Corruption.
