MADRID Jan. 11 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ministry of Health of Angola has confirmed the appearance of a cholera outbreak concentrated in the north of the country’s coast, which has recorded a dozen deaths and 119 cases since the confirmation of the first affected person last Tuesday, the majority in the municipality of Cacuaco, in the province of Luanda.

As reported by the Ministry on its Facebook account, health experts are processing samples from a dozen suspected cases to evaluate the true extent of the outbreak. Of those affected, 24 have been registered only from Thursday to Friday.

In this sense, the MINSA bulletin specifies that cholera could have appeared for the first time on December 31 of last year in a patient affected by vomiting and diarrhea.

A total of 15 patients are admitted to the Cacuaco municipal hospital so far. Eleven of the 12 deaths have been registered in this municipality.
