The acceptance of both publications represents an achievement for the Faculty of Theological Studies and the teams responsible for each journal. Its indexing will grant higher scores and visibility to the authors’ work.
Recently, the journals belonging to the Faculty of Theological Studies and Philosophy: Anales de Teología and Revista de Filosofía, were indexed to Latindex 2.0 and ERIH Plus, two leading indexes of scientific journals, recognized worldwide. The formal acceptance of both publications represents a great achievement for the Faculty and the teams responsible for the journals.
“It is a very important step that our Anales de Teología magazine has been accepted in Latindex 2.0 because this index recognizes it as a scientific journal in the field of Latin America, Spain and Portugal. And at the national level, it means that ANID in Chile also gives this recognition. In addition, it is located within the index in the category of “catalog 2.0″, which is the highest level within the index,” explained Pablo Uribe, Director of Anales de Teología.
“On the other hand, having accepted the journal in ERIH Plus, positions us in the European field of academic journals in humanities and social sciences. Both indices, according to the CNA humanities area committee, grant 7 points to authors who publish their research in our Journal”, he added.
Likewise, David Solís, Director of the Revista de Filosofía, highlighted the importance of this indexing, since it is an “external recognition of a job well done” that encourages maintaining a publication of a high academic level, and that helps to make visible and disseminate the authors’ work to an ever-widening specialized audience.
“Inclusion in these indexes is great recognition for a journal that has been published uninterruptedly for 20 years, disseminating research in philosophy from UCSC, with special emphasis on Christian philosophy. Our expectations are to maintain the current work, but aiming more and more to increase the philosophical quality of the texts. We believe that with these indexing the articles that will be sent to our journal will increase, which will require expanding the variety and number of specialist peer reviewers. Finally, once the previous work has been consolidated, one could think of applying the journal to even more demanding and relevant indices, such as Scopus or Wos”, he said.
Anales de Teología began in 1998, and since then it has been continuously publishing academic research papers in the area of theology. Since 2022, the magazine went online, with a periodicity of two annual issues. For its part, the Revista de Filosofía was created in 2002 and for years has brought together contributions from prominent researchers, reaching a high academic level.
It should be noted that the calls for submission of articles are permanently open. The instructions for submitting and publishing articles are available at the Web page of the Faculty of Theological Studies and Philosophy.
