A captain of the Pakistan Army and six subordinates have been killed by a bomb explosion in the municipality of Lakki Marwat, in the west of the country, the military confirmed this Sunday in a statement.

The explosion took place in the conflictive province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which borders Afghanistan, and where the so-called Pakistani Taliban usually hide, although no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The deceased captain has been identified as Muhamad Faraz Ilyas, 26 years old. His subordinates were between 27 and 50 years old.

“A tracking operation has already begun to eliminate any terrorist present in the area and to bring to justice those responsible for this repugnant attack,” the Pakistan Army press office said in a statement reported by the media. national.
