An Israeli court has validated this Thursday the decision of the Israeli Government to extend for 45 more days the closure of the Qatari pan-Arab television Al Jazeera, accused of inciting attacks against State security and of acting as a “propaganda” organ for the Movement of Islamic Resistance (Hamas).

The Tel Aviv-Jaffa District Court has determined that there is a “close connection” between Al Jazeera and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), while also stating that some of its workers are “partners” of the Palestinian militia and They have even carried out terrorist attacks.

The vice president of the court, Judge Haggai Brenner, pointed out in the ruling that the network’s journalists have crossed ‘a red line’ between “a legitimate source-journalist relationship connection to a connection of another type,” according to the court. ‘The Times of Israel’ newspaper.

Israeli Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi announced on May 5 the suspension of Al Jazeera broadcasts for a period of 45 days. In addition, access to the network’s website from Israel was blocked and its media was seized.
