An Israeli civilian shoots dead a Palestinian who allegedly attacked a settler in the northern West Bank

A Palestinian was killed this Saturday by shots fired by an Israeli civilian in a settlement in the north of the West Bank, the Israeli Army has announced in a statement.

The Palestinian entered the Jewish farm of Sde Ephraim Farm by car and tried to stab an Israeli man with a screwdriver before being shot by the Israeli civilian, according to the Army’s military statement, reported by the Times of Israel.

The deceased was identified by the Palestinian Authority Ministry of Health as 42-year-old Tariq Odeh Youssef Maali, reports the Palestinian agency Wafa.

Beyond the identification of the deceased, the Palestinian authorities have not yet ruled on the exact circumstances of the incident.
